despised in his hometown of HK. The film community
mocks him, makes satires of his films, give him no
face whatsoever. Yet he wins awards at Cannes, is
thoroughly respected by the actors who work with him,
and has begun a revolution in the make-a-quick-buck
world of HK filmmaking. And although his peers say
they hate him, a little bit of Wong Kar-Wai shows up
in everyone's new films. It's a mad world.
