When you have walked through the Singapore National Orchid Gardens, you have seen a glimpse of paradise. Surrounded by the natural beauty of these, the most beautiful flowers in the world, you can forget for a while where you are.

Delicate Creature
Spending lazy days in shade
Smiles to the wind.

An Orchid
Blooms
For
No One
But
Itself

Yet
Is
Loved
By All
Nonetheless

As sure as I am
Able will I
Rise early and sit
Beside my window
To sing softly
To the wildflowers
Listening below

And every night
As I lie down to
Rest from my weary
Day, the wildflowers
Sing softly sending
Me to sleep.

The smell of fresh rain drew me to the fountain, where I lingered for days, drawing upon it's essence.

And as I watched, my soul drifted away down the tiny river, like the petal of an orchid giving itself away.

These images were taken
with a digital camera, although
I have visited the garden many
times shooting various types
of slide and print film. The
original resolution is 1600x1200.
